A Poem by Julie Lemberger

These pictures are dark
you need the opposite of
what they are to see them,
light.

its hard to see who is in
these pictures. its hard to see
if there's a person in there, but
I can see, because I
look hard
because I want to see them
these dark pictures are
pictures of Richard

the darkness
is my memory darkening

I used to think,
Mark is dark but I see that
Richard is dark too.

I attract dark men, not in the
tall, dark and handsome
way,(but they were!)
they were
dark souls, tormented and
hard (to handle, to let go)
afraid to love and be loved, and to be
soft.

I loved a brick wall

I am on a mission
that I fail every time
I am light. wanting to brighten the darkness
darkness will not be made bright, like the
black hole that sucks
light into it

I was drawn in, but  this I chose.
